Sing Children's Songs:

Children's love music and they love to sing songs! There are some wonderful children's songs, and some of them you can even use your hands to help describe what's happening in the song (we'll call them "Finger Songs"). Row, Row, Row, Your Boat: Row, row, row your boat, gently down the stream. Merrily, merrily, merrily, merrily...life is but a dream.
This Old Man: This old man, he played one, he played knick knack on my drum. With a knick knack patty whack, give the dog a bone. This old man came rolling home. Song repeats with numbers two through ten, with the following words corresponding with each number: one-drum, two-shoe, three-tree, four-door, five-hive, six-sticks, seven-up in heaven, eight-gate, nine-all the time, ten-over again.
Open Shut Them: Finger song (while opening and closing both hands) Open shut them, open shut them, give a little clap (clap hands)! (open and close hands) Open shut them, open shut them, put them in your lap (hands in lap). (creep your fingers up from your chest to your chin) Creep them, creep them, creep them creep them, way up to your chin. (open mouth) Open up your little mouth, but do not let them in (quickly hide hands behind back)!
Two Little Blackbirds: Finger song (hold one finger up from each hand) Two little blackbirds, sitting on a hill. One named Jack (wiggle one finger), and one named Jill (wiggle the other finger). Fly away Jack (hide one hand behind your back)! Fly away Jill (hide the other hand behind your back)! Come back Jack (bring one hand out)! Come back Jill (bring the other hand out)!
Where is Thumbkin?: Finger song (place both hands behind your back) Where is Thumbkin? Where is Thumbkin? Here I am (bring the first thumb out to "talk")! Here I am! (bring another thumb out to "talk" to the first thumb) How are you this morning? (first thumb answers) Very well, I thank you. (one hand hides behind your back) Run away! (second hand hides behind your back) Run away!
The Eency Weency Spider: Finger song (put fingers of both hands together like a spider's legs and make them "climb") The eency weency spider went up the water spout. (motion hands downward and out) Down came the rain and washed the spider out. (make your hands rise) Out came the sun, and dried up all the rain - (make hands "climb" again) and the eency weency spider went up the spout again!
Ten in the Bed: There were ten in the bed and the little one said, "Roll over, roll over". So, they all rolled over and one fell out - there were nine in the bed and the little one said, "Roll over, roll over". So, they all rolled over and one fell out - there were eight in the bed and the little one said, "Roll over, roll over". So, they all rolled over and one fell out - there were seven in the bed and the little one said, "Roll over, roll over". (continue subtracting one until...) There was one in the bed and the little one said, "Good night!".
It's Raining, It's Pouring: It's raining, it's pouring, the old man is snoring. He went to bed and bumped his head, and couldn't get up in the morning.
Rain Rain Go Away: Rain rain go away, come again some other day. Little (insert child's name here) wants to play, come again another day.
