Handicapped Accessible? Yes, at the base. Exception: Wheelchairs cannot ascend lighthouse stairs.
Cost: Adults: $7, Ages 6-18: $5, Under 6: free. Admission includes lighthouse tour and museum history exhibits.
Hours: Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum: Tuesday - Sunday 10am-5pm. Last lighthouse tour 4pm (must be 48" tall to climb tour). No flip-flops.
Description: Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse & Museum offers climbing tours of the landmark 1860 lighthouse. The waterfront Museum in the newly restored WWII building offers indoor exhibits on Florida maritime, Native American and Pioneer history, and the outdoor exhibits include the Tindall Pioneer Homestead, Pennock Plantation Bell and Oil House Exhibit. Also available are the museum gift shop, snack cafe, educational programs, sunset tours, weddings and special events. The Lighthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The Lighthouse is located on a US Coast Guard base and visitors are only permitted entrance as part of the Lighthouse Tour. Operated by the Loxahatchee River Historical Society. Lighthouse tours are weather permitting. Check for programs and events at their website or call 561-747-8380.
The DuBois Pioneer Home is located in DuBois Park, at the Jupiter Inlet off A1A and east of U.S. Highway 1. Built in 1898, the site was built on an ancient Indian shell mound dating back many centuries. *TEMPORARILY CLOSED*
