Handicapped Accessible? Yes, at the base. Exception: Wheelchairs cannot ascend lighthouse stairs.
Cost: Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Admission (Includes museum exhibits and lighthouse tour): $7 adults; $5 children; Free for ages 5 and under. Climbers must be 4 feet tall to climb the stairs. Hours: Tuesday - Sunday, 10am - 5pm. Last tour leaves 4pm.
Description: The lighthouse, which is the oldest structure in Palm Beach County, houses a museum with ever-changing exhibits at its base. Visitors can also watch a movie about the lighthouse, receive a certificate that shows that you successfully climbed 105 steps to the top of the lighthouse, and purchase souvenirs at the gift shop. For safety reasons, closed back shoes or shoes with heel straps are required. No flip-flops or heels are allowed. Since the lighthouse is located on U.S. Coast Guard property, no bags or carry items are permitted...cameras only.
What will parents like most? Besides learning about the lighthouse and the history of the land it sits on, parents will also enjoy the view!
What will kids like most? Adults and children over 4 feet tall will enjoy climbing the stairs in the lighthouse, listening to historical facts from the tour guides, and marveling at the spectacular view from the top.
