Description: This park currently consists of a skate area (appears to have 2 sides - one for beginners and one for those more experienced), 2 hockey rinks, 4 paddle ball/handball courts, 2 basketball courts, a playground with 4 adult swings and 2 baby swings, bathrooms, drink machines, water fountains and lots of parking. Five baseball courts are planned.
What will parents like most? For those parents whose children will be using the skating facilities: it's a nice way to spend a few hours - you can sit and watch your child, or if it's an older child...you can drop them off and pick them up later -- make sure they know not to leave the park with anyone (best to leave them with a friend).
The parks hours vary:
M-F: 3pm-9pm (2 sessions)
Sat: 9am-9pm (4 sessions)
Sun: 12n-6pm.
Summer, Holiday and School's Out Days schedule:
M-F: 9pm-9pm (4 sessions - park subject to use by skate park summer camp programs from 9am-12pm M, W, F)
Sat: 9am-9pm (4 sessions)
Sun: 12n-6pm.
The park will be closed on Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, and Easter Sunday. Hours are subject to change due to weather, special events, etc.
For parents of children not using the skating area: parents can sit and watch their children in the playground...although there are no trees to offer any shade, and there are only 2 benches. The playground is adjacent to the parking lot, which is convenient if you've forgotten something for your young child.
What will kids like most? The professional quality of the skating area, and the many different sports they can play all comprised in one park. Younger children will enjoy climbing on the playground equipment :).
