Indian Creek Park & Eco-Island
Address: 1795 Indian Creek Drive East, Indian Creek Drive and Central Blvd.
Handicapped Accessible? Yes, to some extent.
Cost: None.
Description: "Eco Island" replaces the famous, "Imagination Station." It was designed to be eco-friendly, and was created with recycled materials. A piece of Imagination Station lives on in one of the towers and the original fence still exists. The new playground features an area for rock climbing, and there are tube slides, eight swings, and spider netting to climb on. Among the other things at Eco-Island, are a zip line, things to spin on, interactive materials for the younger children to play with, lots of things to climb on, and even a 'fish' rocker for the little ones.
Other things around the park include two hard surface volleyball courts, one basketball court, picnic tables, and some new added benches around the pond. There are paths to walk, and a nice area with a foot bridge that goes over the pond. There are usually ducks there, so don't forget to bring scraps of bread. :) Over the bridge there are picnic tables and a picnic pavilion that offers some shade. Other shady areas can be found under the trees or under some parts of the playground apparatus. There are no restrooms.
What will parents like most? Moms and Dads will love the atmosphere! They're also sure to enjoy "playing" in the playground and walking around the pond and feeding the ducks. The most important fact is that their kids will have such a wonderful time here!
Safety tip: As with all public places, please be sure to watch your children at all times.
What will kids like most? That there is a variety of things to do here.
